Collaborating with Regional Government, Kodam IX/Udayana Rehabits 283 Uninhabitable Houses in Buleleng




Buleleng - Kodam IX/Udayana collaborated with the Regional Government of Buleleng Regency to hold Karya Bakti activities in the form of the renovation of 283 units of uninhabitable houses (RTLH) for extreme poor communities spread across the Buleleng Regency area. The work of devotion was opened directly by Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., at Seririt Field, Buleleng Regency, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.


Through Kodim 1609/Buleleng, Kodam IX/Udayana, together with the Buleleng Regency Government and support from corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs from various companies in the Bumi Panji Sakti area, carried out RTLH rehabilitation in the context of alleviating extreme poverty. On this occasion, social service activities were also carried out in the form of distribution of basic necessities and free medical treatment such as eye examinations, cataract surgery, family planning services, PKH distribution and driver's license services which were attended by around 800 people.


In his speech, Pangdam IX/Udayana said that the TNI as a component of the nation plays a role and carries out various efforts through territorial development in accordance with the mandate of Republic of Indonesia Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the TNI, namely that one of the tasks of the TNI, especially the TNI AD in OMSP, is to empower defense areas and assist regional government duties.


Furthermore, the Military Commander hopes that this activity carried out in mutual cooperation can realize the government's goal of improving the welfare of the community, especially having decent and comfortable homes and being able to handle social and humanitarian problems that occur in the community.


After opening the activity, Pangdam IX/Udayana went straight to Mr. Putu Sukrawan's house in Joanyar Village, Seririrt District, to symbolically lay the first stone for the RTLH renovation and provide basic necessities to the local community.


The Head of Joanyar Village, when welcoming the Military Commander, felt touched by the presence of the TNI and the Buleleng Regency Government, who had given special attention to their poor residents.


Meanwhile, as one of the residents receiving RTLH rehabilitation, Putu Sukrawan expressed, "Thank you to all parties who have held this activity, especially the TNI and Buleleng Regency Government, who have really cared about small people like us."


Next, Pangdam IX/Udayana and his entourage headed to the location of the fish pens assisted by Kodim 1609/Buleleng, namely the Bina Karya Fishermen Group (CV. Putra Bahari), which is one of the pilot projects for the Flagship Food Security Program of Kodim 1609/Buleleng in Patas Village, Gerokgak District. At that location, the military commander inspected the milkfish tancap cages and spread milkfish seeds and nener.


Also present at this activity were the Bali Regional Police Chief, Irdam IX/Udy, Kapok Sahli Pangdam IX/Udy, Danrem 163/Wira Satya, Asrendam IX/Udy, the Assistant Kasdam IX/Udy, and the Dan/Kabalak Unit of Kodam IX/Udy, Forkopimda, along with elements of the Buleleng FKPD, Buleleng Region TNI/Polri Officials, Seririt Subdistrict Head, Banjar Subdistrict Head, and Karya Bakti Participants.
