President Visits Work to Pura Agung Besakih and TPST Kesiman, Pangdam Assures Pam VVIP Runs Safely



Bali - In the context of a working visit to inaugurate the Pura Agung Besakih Sacred Area and the TPST Kesiman, the President of Republic Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo and their entourage were welcomed by the Regional Military Commander (Pangdam) IX/Udayana, the Governor of Bali, the Bali Police Chief and other invitees upon arrival at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung, Bali, on Monday (13/3/2023).


In connection with the working visit the President of Republic Indonesia in Bali Province, the Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General Sonny Aprianto, S.E., M.M., as the Pangkogasgabpad for VVIP Security for the Bali Nusra region, together with other relevant agencies, continues to ensure that the security of every movement of VVIP objects is carried out according to the Fixed Procedures. Thus, the presence of the Pangdam at each activity location is a responsibility at close range in person so that activities really run safely and smoothly.


The agenda for the activities the President of Republic Indonesia today began with the inauguration the Sacred Area of Pura Agung Besakih, Karangasem Regency, whose construction began on August 18, 2021. The inauguration was marked by the beating of 'Kentongan' and the signing of an inscription by the President of Republic Indonesia which began with a brief report from the Governor of Bali and continued with the President's remarks.


In his remarks, the President of Republic Indonesia said that the arrangement of the Pura Besakih Sacred Area which was inaugurated today is a follow-up to the order of the President of Republic Indonesia to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with the Governor of Bali in 2021 using the APBN and APBD budgets for the Province of Bali.


"As for the arrangement of the Besakih Temple area, it will be carried out in the Bencingah Area and Manik Mas Area by building various supporting infrastructures, intended so that people who are Hindus in particular will be more comfortable while praying and the sacredness of the Besakih Temple will be maintained," said the President of Republic Indonesia.


After the event at Pura Agung Besakih, the President of Republic Indonesia and his entourage headed back to Denpasar, to carry out an inspection and inaugurate the Integrated Waste Treatment Facility (TPST) in Kesiman, East Denpasar. Arriving at the TPST, the President of Republic Indonesia was greeted by the Main Director of PT. Bali CMPP Mr. Made Wahyu Wiratmaja who also guided the President in carrying out the inspection.


Before inaugurating the TPST, the President of Republic Indonesia in his remarks said that the Integrated Waste Management Site is a waste management system that is good and not complicated. The President wants this TPST to be imitated by other cities, so that waste is no longer a problem. He hopes that this will be an inspiration for other cities and districts in Indonesia.


After the work visit activities in the Bali region, the President of Republic Indonesia and Mrs. Hj. Iriana Joko Widodo and his entourage using the Special Presidential Aircraft A-001/B-737-8/BBJ2 departed for Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. (Pendam IX/Udy)
